Terrestrial gastropods: Most of the species from the list were developed by accessing the gastropod collection database from the Field Museum of Natural History (see reference below) on the Department of Zoology Invertebrates collections database.  The web site was accessed on 4-4-07. Those species are designated "FMNH"  Two species not on the list were added from Iowa's threatened and endangered species list.  They are designated "IA-T&E"  Additional species will be added as new sources of information are identified.  Only the first identified source will be noted--a single species may be found on many databases, not just the first one identified.
